Need Your Ideas!!

Pack 661 conducts a few Sevice Projects each year. For example, we had great turnout and success with our annual Westminster playground cleanup and Scouting for Food efforts.

We've had success because of the number of Cubs and parents that step up and give their time to help others. We'd also like to draw on this great resource and our ever-increasing numbers to conduct more Service Projects in the coming year. A Service Project doesn't have to be a formal affair like Scouting for Food. It can be a clean-up project in a local park or a visit to a retirement community.

So, we're soliciting your ideas as a Cub parent for Service Projects we can take on in the coming year. Just because you suggest an idea doesn't mean you will have to be the leader/coordinator of the event. We're just trying to get some ideas flowing.

If you have an idea for a Service Project, please either include it as a comment to this post or e-mail it along. Thanks!

  1. Some ideas sent in by Celia:

We could do something at the USC kennels by the library.

We could visit the Nursing home and play cards with the residents or board games.

We could do a trash walk around the trail at Gilfilin farm.

We could check with the REEC center to see if they need help with anything.
